A series of 100+ graphite drawings and counting that explore the borders between creativity and confinement, spontaneity and structure, materiality and abstraction, and thinking and feeling.
Drawings in the Compositions series represent steps in an evolution of rules and constraints that spin a visual narrative ranging from rigid grids to fluid topographies and forms suggesting figures and landscapes.
A selection of 78 drawings were previewed at Four Barrel Coffee in San Francisco. The full series is intended to be published as a multi-volume book.
The drawings stand alone as artworks but are also studies for paintings, murals and architectural facades.
